Durham Children's Choir, Inc.

The Durham Children’s Choir (DCC) was founded in 2004 to provide children with an opportunity to learn and perform with others who share their level of musicality and interest.  DCC is composed of two groups:  Bel Canto, an auditioned performance choir for youth in grades 5 – 12, and Cantare, our non-auditioned preparatory choir for children in grades 2 – 4.  Through weekly rehearsals, our members develop their singing abilities, vocal quality and performance skills and learn and perform high quality vocal literature. The singers work in a cooperative atmosphere with a wide variety of students from the greater Durham area and occasionally with other musical groups in the area and across the state.  Bel Canto shares the joy of our music with the great Durham community by participating in 8 – 12 performances each year.
