Our Mission Walltown Children’s Theatre inspires positive social change by empowering and reconnecting young people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, creating a new expression of community, and enriching their lives and those of their families and communities, through exemplary performing arts instruction and youth development programming

2020 marks Walltown Children’s Theatre’s 20th anniversary year! Twenty years ago, when we began teaching ballet to children in the Walltown neighborhood, we couldn’t have imagined how we would grow: serving more than 150 students weekly during our regular sessions and many more through summer programming (~1,200 students annually); building our in-house Black Box Theater that serves not only our students, but also the greater Durham performance community; and expanding our class offerings beyond dance to include acting, singing, songwriting, guitar, piano, drumming and more.
