Jordan Grace Owens is an artist and illustrator, with a background combining fine arts and design. Her work is a collection of fragments — undulating shapes, arcing lines, vessels and body parts made abstract and strange — pieced together with a graphic sensibility and a spirit of playfulness. Organic shapes draw on inspiration from nature, sculpture, and everyday objects, while bits of faces or hands peek out in between.

She has over a decade of experience working with art directors and clients on various projects, including wedding invitations, product and editorial illustrations, and custom artworks for commercial spaces and homes. Notable clients include The New York Times, The Washington Post, MacMillan, and ABC. She has also worked on hundreds of commissions for custom portraits. In 2012, her work was published in 1,000 Portrait Illustrations: Contemporary Illustration from Pencil to Digital, by Julia Schonlau. In 2019, her signature ‘Paper Doll Portraits’ were even featured on The Today Show.

She works primarily with ink and paint on wood or paper, but has also expanded her work to new media and surfaces, including explorations in ceramic sculpture, a collection of hand-painted pottery, and a large-scale outdoor mural. Each project contributes to her continually developing body of cohesive but multi-disciplinary work.
