Greetings all! My name is Surrayyah (sir-ray-yuh). I am an emerging visual and audio artist in Durham NC. My current focus is on contemporary visual art and DJ House/club music production.

 I wear many titles, as my life has many intersections. I consider myself to be a very multifaceted individual. I am an artist,  historian, writer, community organizer, and musician, and no matter what sphere I enter, I make sure that I promote equity and equality throughout my work. Considering my history and experiences as a black queer person in America, I must promote Black/POC/Queer solidarity. As a radical Queer Black Feminist, I make it my duty to make marginalized people the focus of my work. Throughout my paintings, you will see me and all that I believe. My hopes, dreams, fears, desires, and miscellaneous fun. I hope to be able to paint a clear picture for you, so you can see who I am.
