Artist Statement
As a woman I’ve had a lot of emotions suppressed and neglected so much I’ve lost connection with myself. My work looks at the female body from the inside out recreating internal experiences in a gestural form.  This allows me to create a conversation with my inner self to allow space for experiences that never had the validation and space to process.

Artist Bio
Ashley Harrington is a self-taught expressive painter from Raleigh, North Carolina. Her work creates external instances of internal experiences, exploring the intricacies of identity and self-love. Through a process that involves her entire body, Ashley harnesses the power of full-body movement to imbue her art with emotionally charged, exaggerated gestures.

Primarily working with acrylic paints, Ashley’s artistic toolkit extends to encompass texture mediums, allowing her to craft compositions that resonate with dynamic energy. Her creative process is a fusion of intuitive brushwork and deliberate sketching, resulting in spontaneous yet purposeful figures that initiate a compelling dialogue centered around the theme of healing.
