Crystal Williams-Brown

My art is an extension of myself. It contains bits of my past, hopes, fears, loses, gains, dreams and nightmares. I make bold use of color and center the living figure. Often my figures are separated from environment bringing them firmly into attention. I love to incorporate strong contrast. Though my work appears simple at first, it’s layered in story. The more you look, the more you see. I’m very much in the realm of pop art but there is a flavor of surrealism throughout. Most of what I create is based on how life feels rather than being a literal recreation of life.
