I strive to use art as a way to express myself and create beauty from the chaotic mess that the world can be. I enjoy creating illustrations with two distinct styles that range from playful designs to emotive pieces with social commentary. As someone who works in therapy for disabled children, I understand the power art can have in teaching them to express themselves and understand the world around them. My work is characterized by color, shapes, and compositions, often with a sense of nostalgia for things past. In my more personal pieces, I don’t shy away from the darker emotions, using art as a form of therapy both to heal and to teach others to do the same. As a student aiming to get my Masters in Counseling, I plan to use art as an important part of my practice in the future. Art has so much potential to help those struggling and I hope that my work can spark conversations and change real lives.
