Robert Grinshpon

Dr. Robert D Grinshpon received his PhD from NCSU in 2018 from the department of molecular and structural biochemistry. His research focused on understanding how cancer related protein families evolved discrete regulatory mechanisms. Ancestral protein sequences were computationally predicted, resurrected in the lab, and crystallized for X-ray crystallography. Dr Bob documented the obscure process of macromolecule crystal screening, and curated a limited edition collection of photographs that represents a pinnacle of human science. In addition to photography, Dr Bob explores other creative mediums, like crafting jewelry from bismuth crystals, ai and digital art.
